Two weeks passed in a blur. Orson wished he could just lock Casey in his bedroom and feast on her quim, but she had to work. Instead, he forced himself to focus on a promising new algorithm he was developing just in case he lived past the next full moon.

He couldn't resent Casey's catering gigs since he'd opened up his industrial-sized kitchen to her use. Cooking for an entire clan had always required a lot of space and she'd nearly fainted with joy when he first showed her his stove.

His house was now filled with the intoxicating smells of spicy mustard deviled eggs, crispy pork belly with smoked bacon vinaigrette, shellfish over grits with lobster butter sauce, and chili rubbed ahi tuna with roasted mango salsa. When she made her BBQ pulled pork with jalapeno-peach coleslaw, she'd had to threaten him with her largest knife to keep him from eating all of it before she got the overflowing chafing dish out the door.

The only downside was the smells emanating from his kitchen were so enticing, various members of the clan would wander in from the forest to sneak samples. After the first time one of Orson's clan brothers showed up in her kitchen in full bear shape while Casey was wearing nothing except one of his t-shirts, she started getting fully dressed before leaving the sanctuary of their bedroom. More's the pity.

Watching her with his clan brothers was a revelation. The way she teased and pushed at them to give her room in the kitchen was like seeing one of his own kind. His bear settled at peace whenever she was near in a way he'd never felt before. She just fit.

And in the bedroom, he knew he would never cease to be surprised by her. Her responsiveness, her sounds, the way her skin felt under his hands...he couldn't get enough.

He'd never forget the way even his bear was surprised the night she walked into his bedroom wearing nothing but one of his silk ties and challenged him to show off "all that creativity I've heard so much about."

Grabbing extra ties from his closet, he bound her arms and legs to the poster beds, securing the last around her eyes. Her panting cries of ecstasy as he tortured her with his tongue were enough to make him smile at odd moments throughout the next day.

There were three days left to the full moon. In the kitchen, Casey hummed a tune to herself as she caramelized Brussels sprouts to go with their peppercorn crusted strip steak for dinner. He was grateful the woman had one flaw: her singing was horrible, but he was beginning to find her off-tune melodies as endearing as the rest of her.

I'm going to have to tell her about the challenge soon, he turned the page of the coding book in his lap he realized he hadn't been reading for the last five minutes. She was too big a part of his life now to be kept hidden when the fight went down.
